“Artist to Watch” – Enid Wood

Congratulations to Enid Wood – she has been selected by Sally Strand as an “Artist to Watch” by Pastel Journal (Dec. 2015 issue). Seven artists in total were given this honor and we are proud to say that two of the seven artists regularly use PanPastel in their paintings. (Also selected – Kathryn Gentile who uses PanPastel – including on the piece shown in the magazine).

In the painting shown below (featured in the magazine), Enid used mostly PanPastel Colors over a sumi ink underpainting, on Colourfix Board. She used some pastel sticks to finish the painting. Sally Strand said “Enid’s painterly approach gives this industrial complex a dreamlike quality” and “her pastel application, in which she chisels out forms while contrasting various softened edges is vigorous and confident.”
